The Problem

The building was going to be demolished and turned into a new condominium development in Downtown Toronto. The exterior facade of the building has heritage status, so it has to be preserved. The client did not have any drawings of the building or garage, so they hired UNIQ to complete a full as-built package.

The Solution

Taking into account the importance of the heritage brick facade, we used 3D scanning technology to capture all the exterior heritage details and wall thicknesses. Coordinating closely with all the tenants, we measured all the spaces to create an up-to-date layout of the entire building and garage.

The Outcome

We delivered a complete Revit package to our client with floor plans, exterior elevations, and a roof plan of the building. The model was geo-referenced to a provided survey. As a result, our clients had enough information and existing drawings to continue their new development plans.
